EXPRESS TIPS : SOLUTION TO ONLINE BANKING FRAUD CASE

  

  Technological advances in Online Banking (Internet Banking) is widely used among the Malaysian society today. The service is easy, fast and reliable to do almost all bank transactions online. What about the security level of this facilities ?

    Missing a portion of money involving the Oline Banking may not be seriously compared to other commercial crime cases, but it should be taken seriously as 'smart crimes' such as this will result in negative perceptions of banking institutions in Malaysia.

    Sabah's first case involving a civil servant who worked in the Department of Broadcasting Malaysia Sabah (RTM), Mohamad Suhaimie Hj  Jamli, referring to a report in a local newspaper last May . "I was very surprised and disappointed by this incident, but I have oredy taken an appropriate action to get my money back," said Suhaimie after the bank agreed to pay damages amounting to RM2, 102.00 to replace the money that was reported missing in his savings account.

1. Please make a written report (Official Letter) and e-mail to the bank Headquartes. -In my case, report to the concerned bank branches to be less effective and not given proper attention and action.
2. Make sure you receive the reply from the bank as a confirmation of your report. -According to the National Bank procedures, the bank will apply for a period of 2 weeks to make an internal investigation.

3. You should receive further details in writing from the bank about the progress outcome of your money damages; OR

If you have not received any notification from the bank please report these cases to the Central Bank through the official website of Bank Negara Malaysia, OR

If you are not informed of the steps towards your money damages, please report these cases to the Central Bank through the official website of Bank Negara Malaysia.

The next process is guided by the instructions and advice of Bank Negara to return your missing amount, or you choose to prosecute through the legal process. However, the settlement of cases usually occur in stage-3 with an official notification from the bank. 1. Sila buat laporan bertulis (Surat Rasmi) dan e-mailkan kepada pihak Headquartes bank berkenaan. -Dalam kes saya, laporan ke cawangan bank berkenaan kurang berkesan dan tidak diberikan perhatian serta tindakan yang sewajarnya.



2. Pastikan anda menerima surat jawapan dari bank berkenaan sebagai pengesahan laporan anda. -Mengikut prosedur Bank Negara, pihak bank akan memohon tempoh 2 minggu untuk membuat siasatan dalaman.



3. Anda sepatutnya menerima makluman lanjut secara bertulis dari bank berkenaan mengenai hasil siasatan serta langkah penyelesaian gantirugi wang anda; ATAU



  • Jika anda tidak menerima sebarang makluman dari bank berkenaan sila laporkan kes tersebut kepada Bank Negara melalui laman web rasmi Bank Negara Malaysia; ATAU

  • Jika anda tidak dimaklumkan mengenai langkah penyelesaian gantirugi wang anda, sila laporkan kes tersebut kepada Bank Negara melalui laman web rasmi Bank Negara Malaysia.

   Tindakan selanjutnya ialah patuhi arahan dan makluman semasa pihak Bank Negara dengan pilihan samada wang anda dibayar semula oleh pihak bank yang bertanggungjawab ataupun anda memilih untuk menuntut melalui proses perundangan. Walaubagaimanapun, penyelesaian kes biasanya berlaku pada peringkat ke-3 dengan makluman rasmi dari pihak bank berkenaan.
